In the first next-gen console battles, the N64 was launched in mid-1996 as the front-runner for Nintendo. The Wii U has many N64 models, but the Wii U has been gone for years. Nintendo currently has no plans to produce an N64 Classic, but from the beginning of Nintendo’s 3D days, it is impossible to play games unless you own a working N64.
